Hello,

I'm a freelance editor with over eight years' experience working in-house in a busy editorial department.

During my time at Penguin Random House I was responsible for the entire editorial process, from acquisition to final files. I briefed freelancers regularly, so I know how important it is to get the right person for the job. Since becoming a freelancer editor in 2016, my clients have included publishers HarperCollins, Pan Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, Hodder, Bonnier, Michael O'Mara and Hoxton Mini Press, as well as WeWork, marketing companies and organisations such as the Museum of London.

  • I’m a proactive copyeditor, who is always sensitive to the author’s voice. I’m comfortable taking on a big structural overhaul, or just a thorough check and tidy up.

  • I have written books to a brief in the gift and humour genres and compiled quote books.

  • I’m a skilled project manager used to working on complicated projects to tight deadlines.

  • I’m a proficient copywriter, experienced in writing selling copy for books across many genres.

  • I’m an eagle-eyed proofreader and trustworthy general fact checker.

I have worked with authors who are well known and first-time writers brand new to the publishing process. So I welcome all approaches – from publishers needing a safe pair of hands to writers looking for help and advice on a self-publishing project. I mainly work within general non-fiction, but I love a challenge, or an unusual project, so drop me a line and let me know how I can help!
